Hamavlet manufactures a range of electronic components for its customers, mainly contacts, EMI/RFI shields and antennas, for precision and high quality applications in the electronics, communications, aviation and aerospace, defense, medical devices and consumer products industries.

Hamavlet meets short lead times and precision requirements by applying various technologies to the manufacture of prototypes and models, small series and medium series. Hamavlet provides economic, large series manufacturing solutions using die stamping, for the manufacture of antennas, contacts, battery housings and electrodes. Hamavlet processes various materials and thicknesses (0.02-0.8 mm).

Hamavlet manufactures components for electronic devices that enable communications between people and systems, for example: Hand held computers, (PDAs), laptop computers, notebooks and tablets, navigation devices (GPS), mobile telephones, etc. The great demand for mobile applications in cellular instruments requires the device designers to contend with a number of challenges in order to comply with physical and mechanical requirements, such as: Miniaturization, density, multi frequency broadcast and receiving capabilities, EMI/RFI shielding, etc.

Antennas

The reliability and performance of cellular communications systems depends, to a great extent, on the type and quality of the antenna. Therefore, products designers are often required to design thin and small antennas with enhanced performance capabilities.

Hamavlet specializes in stamping, delicate bending using manually operated presses and assembly using precision electrical spot welding of PIFA antennas for various uses, including: GSM, GPS, Multi-band, CDMA, etc. Hamavlet also manufactures low profile monopole antennas, antennas for Bluetooth / WiFi applications, WLAN slot antennas, and metal plate antennas.

Antennas are frequently manufactured from beryllium copper due to the mechanical and physical properties of the alloy. Tin coating can be applied to the antenna to prepare it for soldering to the system or to shield it from RFI.

Electrical contacts

An electrical contact or connector is a basic component used in electronic systems to close electrical circuits by creating a physical contact between electronic components. Hamavlet manufactures contacts in a wide spectrum of shapes, sizes and materials, from simple flat contacts (tabs), through electrodes for medical devices to complex, shaped spring contacts.

Hamavlet manufactures contacts in a number of methods according to the product requirements and the batch size. In order to reduce costs in large series manufacturing, stamping is used both for blanking and forming the part. The components can be manufactured using a progressive die or a set of blanking and bending dies.

In small and medium sized series, it is possible to carry out blanking using EDM wire cutting or laser cutting and forming using delicate bending in a manually operated press. Hamavlet provides technical consulting during the R&D stages and provides quick turnaround in the manufacture of development models and prototypes.

Electronic contacts undergo coating to enhance mechanical, physical and aesthetic properties, such as: Resistance to corrosion, electrical conductivity, a base for soldering, resistance to abrasion, etc. Selective coating enhances the performance of the product and reduces manufacturing costs involved in the full plating of the component. Common coatings: Gold, silver, tin and nickel.

Micro switches

Assembly of a micro switch mechanism

Micro switches are miniature electro-mechanic mechanisms used as process shut off switches, limit switches, or safety switches in the electronic, defense, consumer products and robotics industries. The mechanical mechanism generally contains an arm with a pulley or spring appendage with a joint or pivot. Hamavlet manufactures the switch components using stamping and metal machining and assembles the mechanical mechanisms using laser welding and riveting.

Battery housings

Battery housings store and protect batteries from harsh operating conditions, such as: Vibrations, jolts and dirt. Hamavlet manufactures battery housings of stainless steel or nickel. Round battery housings are suitable for AA type batteries. Flat battery housings are suitable for button batteries. Metal tabs can be welded to create a contact, or for anchoring purposes using laser welding or electric spot welding.
