EDM wire cutting of a complex fixture
Tool and die manufacturing
Hamavlet specializes in the precision manufacture of special tools, manufacturing jigs and dies using CNC technologies, such as: EDM wire cutting, EDM drilling and metal machining. Hamavlet manufactures different types of tools, from simple gauging tools to complex progressive dies that incorporate several synchronized processing operations. All tools, dies, fixtures and jigs undergo strict quality inspection using advanced video measurement tools.
Dies
Hamavlet's team of precision metal machining experts and experienced die makers enable the company to provide die design, manufacture, renovation and maintenance services. Hamavlet manufactures the die components at its plant, including die housings, die plates, punches, guides, etc. To ensure compliance with customer requirements, Hamavlet assembles manufactured dies on a press and performs operational tests, such as mechanical working order tests, and first series model manufacturing.

Types of dies
- Blanking
- Coining / embossing
- Piercing
- Shearing
- Bending / hinge rolling
- Compound die
- Progressive die
Jigs and fixtures
- Jigs - The manufacture of dedicated tools for guiding and fixing the workpiece during processing or for imparting a defined geometric shape, for example: Shape setting jigs for medical implants.
- Fixtures - Universal ancillary tools, for fixing the workpiece in place, such as, ancillary tools for metal machining centers, EDM wire cutting machines or EDM drilling.
- Gauges - The manufacture of simple shaped or geometrically complex GO / NO GO type gauges. EDM wire cutting enables high precision manufacturing of gauges directly from hard tool steel (≥ 0.01 mm).
- Special bending tools - The manufacture of special bending tools for delicate or complex bending operations or for forming operations that cannot be done using dies or when the building of a die is impractical as in small series manufacturing.

Complementary EDM processing
Complementary and precision EDM processing of special parts or prototypes originally manufactured using milling or casting, for example: Cutting of teeth, mortise (slot for tenon), or slots for improving springiness, or drilling deep conical holes. The photograph to the right (upper item), shows an aluminum part manufactured using metal machining and thereafter undergone complementary machining using EDM wire cutting in order to manufacture the jig (lower item).
