Hamavlet provides design, manufacturing, renovation and maintenance services for conventional and progressive dies used in the manufacturing process at the Company. In addition, Hamavlet provides turnkey solutions for delivering complete stamping systems and production tools for customers requiring such built-to-order solutions at their factories.

Tool & die design

Hamavlet uses advanced CAD software for detailed and rapid design of dies, blanking tools, bending tools, shape-setting jigs, measurement tools, and other specialized devices. The professional team at Hamavlet uses a (Cimatron) CAD/CAM system for designing die housings, punches, dies, guides, etc. The CAD system performs precise blanking calculations as an integral part of the design process, and therefore shortens it by minimizing trial and error mistakes. An effective, precise and dynamic system operated by a professional die maker, reduces delivery time to the customer.

Tool & die manufacture and assembly

The tool and die makers at Hamavlet have a wealth of multi-disciplinary experience and precision manufacturing knowhow. The die manufacture, renovation and maintenance department consists of experts in metal machining (milling, drilling, turning and threading), EDM wire cutting and drilling, surface grinding and die assembly. Following are the main stages in the manufacture of a die:

1. Metal machining of the die components
2. Heat treatment (Hardening) of the metal blocks, from which the die, guide and punches will be made
3. Precision manufacturing of the die and punches by EDM wire cutting and drilling of the hardened blocks
4. Surface grinding of die components (die, punches, guide, die head, die base)
5. Mechanical assembly of the die
6. Mounting the die onto the press and operational testing
7. Manufacture of first samples and quality inspection to verify compliance with requirements.

Die renovation and maintenance

Hamavlet provides die renovation and maintenance services. Each die manufactured by the Company carries warranty of its serviceability. Dies not kept at Hamavlet also receive professional handling in accordance with customer requirements.

After the manufacture of a batch, the die is checked to verify proper mechanical operation and to ensure product quality. The dies undergo ongoing periodic maintenance that includes:

• Dismantling of the die to check serviceability
• Replacement / grinding of punches
• Grinding of the die
• Adjustment and oiling

Turnkey solutions for complete stamping systems

Hamavlet provides turnkey solutions delivering complete production systems for customers requiring built-to-order solutions at their factories. In such cases, Hamavlet supplies a complete stamping system with all its components, including die manufacturing, supplying the presses (mainly pneumatic presses), mounting the die on the press at our workshop, first run checking and sample production, and after approval, delivering the complete manufacturing system to the customer.

Examples of integrated systems: Operation in clean rooms, part of the customer's production line, operation in "contaminated" environments requiring isolated manufacturing, security installations, etc.
