Shape forming using CNC bending

CNC bending is a fast, versatile and inexpensive metal working method for forming 3D objects from flat materials. Hamavlet uses CNC bending to form precision products for the electronics, communications, electronic packaging and consumer products industries.

The workpiece is fed horizontally into a hydraulic press, between the punch and a V-shaped die. A CNC controlled and adjustable stopper precisely positions the workpiece in the XY plane, according to the specifications of the operating program. The press exerts a top down and controlled pressure on the workpiece causing plastic deformation which alters the shape of the material. A CNC bending machine, also known as a break press, facilitates carrying out variable bending operations on a single product and performed in consecutive order.

The controlled synergy between these parameters enables complex shape forming. The following video clip demonstrates the shape forming process in a CNC bending machine.
